The validation of the Anita-2000 code package and, more generally, of the SCALENEA-1 sequence calculation, against Data from Low-Activation Repository (Baita-Bihor) has been performed. The calculation results are in good agreement with the experimental ones: the discrepancies are, generally, within the experimental uncertainties (up to 40%). Discrepancies less than 1% have been found between Sn SCALENEA-1 spherical surface detector and Monte Carlo MCNP 4C results on the lateral surface. Discrepancies less than 2% have been found between Sn SCALENEA-1 cylindrical surface detector and 2D-Sn DORT results on the central radial surface. B. Discrepancies between experiment and calculation are within 25% both for Anita and Fispact. Differences between the two code calculation are within 2% As a general conclusion, the SCALENEA-1 calculation sequence both with the ANITA-2000 and the EASY-99 is able to provide reliable results for various ITER safety analysis purposes like waste management assessment. Moreover, experimental data from the cemented containers of the ENEA-Trisaia SIRTE waste storage have been collected and processed for a possible further step in the ANITA-2000 validation process. Detailed data (as the radioisotope content) for a significant sample of drums will be processed in a next future to make possible the contact dose rate evaluation in the various positions outside the cemented drum container and the comparison with the experimental data.

Abstract

The present report outlines the approaches and the results of new contributes to the validation effort of the two activation code packages ANITA-2000 and EASY-99 (Fispact99), that have been done in the frame of the EFDA Task No. TW3-TSS-SEA5.5: A. B. ANITA-2000 and EASY-99 code packages have been validate against experimental data from ENEA FNG (Fusion Neutron Generator) shut down dose rates measurements.
