Cruise Contract and Passenger Protection

The essay aims to analyze the level of protection of cruise passenger in the EU. In this perspective, the attention will be particularly focused on EU law dealing specifically with liability of carriers of passengers by sea in the event of accidents and with concerning the rights of passengers when travelling by sea, without neglecting that the level of passenger protection depends on many other European and national sets of rules, which must be carefully coordinated by the interpreter. The contribution at hand shed light even on the fact that passenger protection is deeply covered by EU law also because it represents an unparalleled tool for harmonization and, therefore, for the achievement of a perfectly competitive single market.
