In the light of the new verses preserved by the P. Mil. Vogl. VIII 309, this paper aims at a new examination of the inscribed epigrams that Werner Peek ascribed to Posidippus of Pella: the discovery of hundreds of new verses that the first editors and most scholars have considered as Posidippus’ work requires a reexamination of the main issues concerning this poet, and especially a close scrutiny of the inscribed texts mentioned above.
