This chapter discusses the most common definitions of social entrepreneurship, based on different combination of social innovation and economic-financial factors, in order to thoroughly understand the characteristics and peculiarities of social businesses. The literature review of the definition of social entrepreneurship and social enterprise underlines as either the definitions combines both social and economic aims in the decision making process, but are different in varying cultures and periods. Social enterprise is increasingly becoming a pressing area of study in academia, accompanied by abroad range of literature that continues to be published on various relating arguments.
