The performance improving of the existing building stock is nowadays and far the near future a priority in Europe, supported by Directives and research and innovation programmes (Horizon 2020 - EU Framework Programme far Research & lnnovation) with related financial instruments. The Directives 2010/31/EU and 2012127/EU, aiming at significantly reducing the energy consumption in buildings and introducing new performance models far high efficiency (NZEB - Net Zero Energy Building), focus an the issue of renovation of this existing stock. To reduce the high energy consumption, it is necessary to define effective strategies far improving the efficiency of these buildings: the reduction of the energy demand of the buildings contributes to improve the level of indoor comfort and significantly has an impacton the energy consumption, with positive consequences in terms of financial and environmental sustainability. The recent EU legislation related to quality and certification of construction products (EU Regulation 30512011), important far the definition of the basic requirements of the buildings, introduces the requirement of sustainable use of natural resources. The definition of easily comparable procedures is strategie: the declaration EPD (Environmental Product Declaration) is a voluntary document far the marketing of the product as a result of a checking process of the contents by a third party, as a certification body. The issue of retrofitting and renovation in terms of performance improving of the buildings is dealt with an integrated approach, considering in depth the potential contribution of various systems and components to the overall result, analysing in detail the related problems and different scenarios of technological applications.
La riqualificazione prestazionale del patrimonio costruito costituisce oggi e per il prossimo futuro una priorità ineludibile in ambito europeo, promossa a livello normativa (Direttive) e di indirizzi di ricerca (Horizon 2020 - EU Framework Programmefor Research&lnnovation). Le Direttive 2010/31/UE e 2012/27/UE, nel contesto di una generale definizione di obiettivi di sensibile riduzione del fabbisogno energetico degli edifici e dell'introduzione di nuovi modelli prestazionali di elevata efficienza (nZEB- Net Zero Energy Building), pongono con decisione l'attenzione sul tema delle riqualificazione del patrimonio esistente. A fronte di una situazione intensamente energivora, è necessario impostare efficaci strategie di riqualificazione: la riduzione dei fabbisogni energetici degli edifici apporta il duplice beneficio di migliorare il livello di comfort interno agli ambienti confinati e contribuire in maniera ri levante alla riduzione del consumo energetico, con positive ricadute in termini economici e di sostenibilità ambientale. Le recenti normative comunitarie in ambito di qualità e certificazione dei prodotti da costruzione (Regolamento UE 305/2011) nella definizione dei requisiti di base delle opere introducono un settimo requisito inerente l'uso sostenibile delle risorse naturali. La definizione di procedure facilmente comparabili è strategica in tema di Dichiarazione Ambientale di prodotto. La certificazione EPD (Envi ronmental Product Declaration), costituisce un documento volontario che accompagna la commercializzazione del prodotto a seguito di un processo di verifica dei contenuti da parte di un ente di certificazione terzo. Il tema della riqualificazione prestazionale degli edifici viene affrontato nel saggio in term ini integrati, approfondendo l'apporto potenziale di diversi sistemi e componenti al risultato complessivo e analizzandone problematiche e scenari.
