By focusing on the social actors who construct national histories, Team I of the larger project NHIST has sought to investigate networks, communities and institutions to explain the relationship between the professionalisation of the historical discipline and the emergence of national histories during the last two centuries. The work of the team will result in two volues: atlas of the institutions of European historiographeis 1800 to the present edited by Ilaria Porciani and Lutz Rahael with an innovative historical cartography and aaainstitutions, networks and communities of national histories: comaprative approaches edited by Ilaria Porciani and Jo Tollebeek.
