The paper presents the main features of a finite element numerical model for transient dynamic analysis of composite laminated plates and shells, including geometrical nonlinearity and a simplified contact model to allow simulation of impact events. The model has been implemented in a program written in Fortran language. Some examples of analyses performed with the program are described and discussed.
