This issue of the Journal of Statistical Physics was conceived at the conference on Mathematical Physics of Spin Glasses which took place in Cortona, Italy. The organizers of the conference were Pierluigi Contucci and Sandro Graffi. Most of the articles are related to lectures given at that conference. (The article by Franceso Guerra was not ready for this issue and will be published in a later issue of Journal of Statistical Physics.)
