Key concepts in the European discourse on education such as ‘early school leaving’ and ‘life-long learning’ refer to the relationship between education and the life course reproducing normative implications of how normal lives proceed in and through education. But how do young people’s educational trajectories evolve? Where are the crossroads for different developments with unequal outcomes? How are decisions being made at transition points? These are the key questions underlying the report Education and the Life Course which contributes to the overall objectives of the GOETE project of complementing the dominant outcome orientation in current educational research by a focus on the interactions in-volved in the construction of educational trajectories.

Abstract
Key concepts in the European discourse on education such as ‘early school leaving’ and ‘life-long learning’ refer to the relationship between education and the life course reproducing normative implications of how normal lives proceed in and through education. But how do young people’s educational trajectories evolve? Where are the crossroads for different developments with unequal outcomes? How are decisions being made at transition points? These are the key questions underlying the report Education and the Life Course which contributes to the overall objectives of the GOETE project of complementing the dominant outcome orientation in current educational research by a focus on the interactions in-volved in the construction of educational trajectories.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
