The Communist collapse, the European enlargement, and globalization have made evident how nationalism, as a form of resistance to radical changes in economic, social, cultural, religious, linguistic terms, goes beyond the violence that provoked the Yugoslav dissolution. The chapter therefore explores to what extent these dynamics affect the governance in Europe as a whole, particularly in times of deep and economic and social crisis. Furthermore, it offers new powerful insights on the mechanisms of solidification and liquefaction of links and relations in the transition phase from the nation-state to a post nation-state construction.

Abstract
The Communist collapse, the European enlargement, and globalization have made evident how nationalism, as a form of resistance to radical changes in economic, social, cultural, religious, linguistic terms, goes beyond the violence that provoked the Yugoslav dissolution. The chapter therefore explores to what extent these dynamics affect the governance in Europe as a whole, particularly in times of deep and economic and social crisis. Furthermore, it offers new powerful insights on the mechanisms of solidification and liquefaction of links and relations in the transition phase from the nation-state to a post nation-state construction.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
