The paper analyzes the development of the condition of women during the Risorgimento re-reading their role as central in the construction of the national discourse, with particular attention to the situation of Bologna. Not to mention the importance of the living room, as a place of sociability but also political education, played throughout the season of the struggle of the Risorgimento, the text focuses on other areas of political and social women’s expression especially those of education: kindergartens, schools and professional schools.
