Due to their marginality, the areas bordering State frontiers are often rich in wildlife animals and have shared a part in the armed conflict involving transnational regions. The ultimate theories in biodiversity conservation have focused on these areas for their capability of responding both to conservation and conflict solving issues. The article will review the existing literature on the issue of Transfrontier Conservation Strategies and suggest a critical analysis of the implementation process in Southern Africa.

Abstract

Due to their marginality, the areas bordering State frontiers are often rich in wildlife animals and have shared a part in the armed conflict involving transnational regions. The ultimate theories in biodiversity conservation have focused on these areas for their capability of responding both to conservation and conflict solving issues. The article will review the existing literature on the issue of Transfrontier Conservation Strategies and suggest a critical analysis of the implementation process in Southern Africa.
