Hydroelectric power stations account for about 20% of the world’s electric energy. Nonetheless, one would argue that the international legal analysis applicable to foreign investment in the hydroelectric power industry would largely apply on par with foreign investment in the energy industry in general. Still, some specifics characterize this sector depending on the logistics of the investment, its transboundary relevance, or the country-specific economic regulatory framework. The present contribution will exactly tackle those issues.

Abstract
Hydroelectric power stations account for about 20% of the world’s electric energy. Nonetheless, one would argue that the international legal analysis applicable to foreign investment in the hydroelectric power industry would largely apply on par with foreign investment in the energy industry in general. Still, some specifics characterize this sector depending on the logistics of the investment, its transboundary relevance, or the country-specific economic regulatory framework. The present contribution will exactly tackle those issues.File in questo prodotto:
