By identifying fragmentation as one of the main landscape degradation phenomena produced by transport infrastructures, our paper proposes a specific method to analyze and assess the negative effects on landscape due to transport axes. The described method, based on a double-scale analysis, is replicable and more oriented to the detection of perceived rather than measured outcomes, in order to empathize identity characters of the landscape and therefore the role of local population in defining possible alterations of their landscape. As well as fostering public participation procedures, the proposed method can also support public administrations and infrastructures and landscape designers to understand the nature of degradation through a common view. Our description ends with the application of the proposed method to a case study in the Emilia-Romagna Region (Italy) in order to show its practical use

Abstract
Our description ends with the application of the proposed method to a case study in the Emilia-Romagna Region (Italy) in order to show its practical use.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
