International workshop on vehicle routing and intermodal transportation ROUTE 2005 took place at the University of Bologna Residential Centre of Bertinoro, Forlì-Cesena, Italy, June 23-26, 2005. The workshop is supported by the University of Bologna. The workshop aims to provide a forum for scientific exchange and cooperation in the field of vehicle routing, intermodal transportation and related areas. As in the previous editions of the workshop, hosted in 2000 and 2003 by the Technical University of Denmark, to keep the workshop rather informal and to encourage discussion and cooperation presentations was organized in a single stream. The participation to ROUTE 2005 is by invitation only.
