The book gathers several essays dealing with the major issues of the petrochemical revolution and its different impact on various countries, including Italy illustrated by V. Zamagni. It shows the diffusion of cracking plants, the rise of large chemical conglomerates and their dissolution in the 1990s, when we can say that the petrochemical revolution was over and other novelties started appearing in the chemical sector. The primacy of Europe in the chemical industry, acquired at the time of the organic chemicals produced from coal, was not challenged by the petrochemical revolution, while is now in jeopardy in the age of the biochemical revolution.

Abstract
The book gathers several essays dealing with the major issues of the petrochemical revolution and its different impact on various countries, including Italy illustrated by V. Zamagni. It shows the diffusion of cracking plants, the rise of large chemical conglomerates and their dissolution in the 1990s, when we can say that the petrochemical revolution was over and other novelties started appearing in the chemical sector. The primacy of Europe in the chemical industry, acquired at the time of the organic chemicals produced from coal, was not challenged by the petrochemical revolution, while is now in jeopardy in the age of the biochemical revolution.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
