The chapter will focus on the application of Genetic Algorithms (GAs) in CAD topics. An overview of the GAs will be supplied, with a special focus of their use as optimization technique. In particular, the use of GAs for optimizing the choice of the numerous parameters involved in a CAD detection method will be described. Major advantages induced by the use of a GA in CAD detection issues will be described, both in term of performance improvement and of the investigation of the importance of the different CAD parameter.
