The present invention relates to diagnostic methods involving the use of specific proteins for evaluating vaginal infections. The invention further relates to treatment of such infections with antibiotics, in particular rifaximin at different dosages, and evaluating recovery from the infections after treatment. The invention also relates to a non-invasive method for predicting a cure and remission from vaginal infections following antibiotic treatment by the use of specific proteins.

Abstract
