The invention concerns a system for measuring the distance between two radio devices, where the first device emits a proper bi-tonal radio signal that is received by the second device that is able to estimate the distance from the first device. Combining multiple devices allows the system to estimate the position of a device with respect to a set of devices located in known positions. The present invention also concerns a method for estimating the position of a radio device even in the absence of information on the orientation of the device to locate.
