Our research activity is focusing on the investigation of both basic and applied aspects of nanostructured materials for energy conversion systems. Particularly, lithium intercalation inorganic compounds, electronically conducting polymers, high surface area carbons and supported metallic catalysts have been studied in view of their applications in lithium-ion batteries, polymer hybrid supercapacitors with ionic liquids as electrolytes and direct methanol fuel cells, respectively. We well present and discuss the main results obtained in the frame of the research activities on lithium-ion batteries and DMFCs.

Abstract

Our research activity is focusing on the investigation of both basic and applied aspects of nanostructured materials for energy conversion systems. Particularly, lithium intercalation inorganic compounds, electronically conducting polymers, high surface area carbons and supported metallic catalysts have been studied in view of their applications in lithium-ion batteries, polymer hybrid supercapacitors with ionic liquids as electrolytes and direct methanol fuel cells, respectively. We well present and discuss the main results obtained in the frame of the research activities on lithium-ion batteries and DMFCs.
