Digital Satellite Communications

The book provides state-of-the-art coverage on all aspects related to the physical layer of a satellite link, including channel propagation, coding, modulation, synchronization and parameter estimation, predistortion and equalization, diversity and combining, multiple access, and software radio. As such, the book is intended for post-graduate Students, Researchers, practicing Engineers, particularly in Communications and Signal Processing. We have chosen an approach that focuses on the latest advancements in the field, in hope to give lasting reference value to the manuscript. The necessary theoretical background is included in dedicated chapters, in order to have a self-standing book. The chapters can be read in sequence or by going directly to the topics of interest. The Reader will note that the sequence of chapters resembles somewhat the adventure undergone by a signal in passing through a transmission chain.
