The volume is a collection of original essays whose purpose is to provide a comprehensive appraisal of John Hicks's theory of economic dynamics as developed in his Capital and Time. The Editors' Introduction examines the general theory of capital structure as a theory of compositional changes of the capital stock. The other contributions examine: (i) the relationship between Hicks's Capital and Time and the general theory of economic choice, value and capital; (ii) the historical roots of Hicks's traverse analysis; (iii) the ways ahead from Hicks's traverse theory.
