Crown gall is an important and widespread bacterial disease of grapevine throughout the world. In Serbia, the disease was first observed in the early 1960s. Since then it has been sporadic, causing no significant losses. Recently, high incidence and severity of crown gall were recorded in 2-4 year-old vineyards located in main grapevine growing regions.
