The 2012 edition of Social developments in the European Union provides evidence of pending problems and challenges: old tensions (double dip and persistent recession in many Member States) and new questions on the EU strategy (growing territorial cleavage between Northern and Southern Europe; lack of dramatic improvements in growth-friendly investments - like education and active labour market policies; and increased public opinions’ discontent) are at the top of the debate. The edited volume provides also a road map to exit the crisis and give new impetus to the EU.

Abstract
The 2012 edition of Social developments in the European Union provides evidence of pending problems and challenges: old tensions (double dip and persistent recession in many Member States) and new questions on the EU strategy (growing territorial cleavage between Northern and Southern Europe; lack of dramatic improvements in growth-friendly investments - like education and active labour market policies; and increased public opinions’ discontent) are at the top of the debate. The edited volume provides also a road map to exit the crisis and give new impetus to the EU.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
