The aim of the chapter is to assess the developments in the fight against international cartels and the relatively unexplored interlinks with the Area of Freedom Security and Justice. The investigation focuses on the scope, added value and criticalities emerging from the EU/US agreements on extradition and mutual legal assistance, entered into force on 1 February 2010. These framework agreements, elaborated in the broader post 9/11 context, determine the legal standard for all bilateral treaties of the member states and are scrutinized in light of the changes brought about by the Lisbon Treaty.

Abstract
The aim of the chapter is to assess the developments in the fight against international cartels and the relatively unexplored interlinks with the Area of Freedom Security and Justice. The investigation focuses on the scope, added value and criticalities emerging from the EU/US agreements on extradition and mutual legal assistance, entered into force on 1 February 2010. These framework agreements, elaborated in the broader post 9/11 context, determine the legal standard for all bilateral treaties of the member states and are scrutinized in light of the changes brought about by the Lisbon Treaty.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
