This mathematical model of the alveolar diffusion, computer processed, establishes the relationship between the lung diffusion capacity and a representative physical property of the alveolar region termed effective diffusity. The boundary conditions influence the lung diffusing capacity. This fact makes the lung diffusing capacity, measured clinically via the single breast test, to be a parameter sufficient only to establish a diffusion abnormality, but insufficient for distinguishing among different reasons of respiratory diseases.

Abstract
This mathematical model of the alveolar diffusion, computer processed, establishes the relationship between the lung diffusion capacity and a representative physical property of the alveolar region termed effective diffusity. The boundary conditions influence the lung diffusing capacity. This fact makes the lung diffusing capacity, measured clinically via the single breast test, to be a parameter sufficient only to establish a diffusion abnormality, but insufficient for distinguishing among different reasons of respiratory diseases.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
