The Joint Mission is engaged in archaeological and conservation activities respectively around the Terrace and on the Terrace at Persepolis. The 2011 campaign has seen for the first activity excavations at the sites of Tol-e Ajori and Firuzi 5, with the discovery of an Achaemenid monument of unknown typology, and for the second a workshop on conservation on the Terrace, guided by Italian restorers, with the first application of dedicated Italian mortars.
