The Post-Conference field trip illustrated several Cambrian to Quaternary terrestrial analogue deposits of interest for astrobiological and geological studies and included sites such as mud volcanoes and mud mounds, travertine spring deposits, and stromatolites. Analogue environments provided the opportunity to optimize astrobiological and planetary exploration strategies, test planetary rover engineering requirements, and develop new strategies for future missions to Mars. Morocco now plays a leading role in the use of terrestrial analogue sites because of its ideal geography and climate, wide diversity of geology and astrobiology analogue sites, and for rover, landing, and field-based instrument simulations for Mars and other rocky planets.

Abstract
The Post-Conference field trip illustrated several Cambrian to Quaternary terrestrial analogue deposits of interest for astrobiological and geological studies and included sites such as mud volcanoes and mud mounds, travertine spring deposits, and stromatolites. Analogue environments provided the opportunity to optimize astrobiological and planetary exploration strategies, test planetary rover engineering requirements, and develop new strategies for future missions to Mars. Morocco now plays a leading role in the use of terrestrial analogue sites because of its ideal geography and climate, wide diversity of geology and astrobiology analogue sites, and for rover, landing, and field-based instrument simulations for Mars and other rocky planets.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
