The Recovery by Compatibility in Patches (RCP) procedure recently proposed is here extended to the elastoplastic case. It is proposed to effectively reconstruct both the stress and plastic strain fields after each load step and it constitutes the basis for error estimation and adaptive procedures in elastoplasticity.
