The 2011 field season of the Aswan-Kom Ombo Archaeological Project (AKAP) lasted from January to March, but had to stop its work during the month of February due to the political situation in Egypt. For lack of time it focused on the ongoing geomorphological survey, on rescue excavations and on rock art study. The geomorphological survey was performed in West Bank in the areas of Garb Aswan and Nag el-Qarmila. The rescues excavation was concentrated on the Predynastic cemetery at Nag el-Qarmila, an investigation ongoing since 2007 with great results for the understanding of the southern variant of the Naqada culture. As for the rock art, an holistic documentation has been applied, including: description, catalogue and copy of every single drawing, as well as digital documentation, stereophotogrammetry and 3D modeling of the rock art drawings and their landscape setting. Great results were gathered by the comprehensive study of the rock art site at Nag el-Hamdulab, dated to Dynasty Zero and representing the oldest royal jubilee.

Abstract
Great results were gathered by the comprehensive study of the rock art site at Nag el-Hamdulab, dated to Dynasty Zero and representing the oldest royal jubilee.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
