PLEOMORPHIC ADENOMA Definition: A rare lesion morphologically similar to pleomorphic adenoma (benign mixed tumour) of salivary glands. Epidemiology These lesions have been reported in female patients over a wide range of age. Occasional cases affecting the male breast are on record. Clinical features: Pleomorphic adenoma of the breast usually affects the periareolar region. On mammography it can mimic a carcinoma, as a consequence of calcifications. Malignancy can be simulated also on fine needle aspiration cytology.
