I briefly consider three alternative approaches to the relation between meaning and cognition, and then work on the third one, the one which centers on the relation between meaning and attention. First I discuss Campbell 2002's contribution, then further develop the relation. Kind of incidentally, I hint at many philosophical reflections on attention from Plato to contemporary analytic philosophy.
