The objective has been to select a set of candidate surface treatments for lead and then to evaluate their protective performance in organic acid vapor atmospheres, with the aim of developing protection methods for lead-based organ pipes. Candidate treatments for the protection of pipes have been selected on the basis of a literature survey. Different methods for the protection of lead are described in the literature for both corroded and uncorroded lead objects exposed to different environments. The most interesting options described in the literature are summarized in the following sections.

Abstract
The objective has been to select a set of candidate surface treatments for lead and then to evaluate their protective performance in organic acid vapor atmospheres, with the aim of developing protection methods for lead-based organ pipes. Candidate treatments for the protection of pipes have been selected on the basis of a literature survey. Different methods for the protection of lead are described in the literature for both corroded and uncorroded lead objects exposed to different environments. The most interesting options described in the literature are summarized in the following sections.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
