In the current deregulated, competitive environment, companies are coninually seeking ways to reduce their operation and maintenance costs while still providing their customers with high reliability and quality of service. Condition based maintenance (CBM) is a good strategy which could be used to improve reliability, increase useful life of the equipment and reduce the cost of maintenance. This chapter addresses a Particle Swarm Optimisation (PSO) approach for solving a condition based maintenance scheduling problem for maximizing the total profit, considering incomes, production costs and maintenance costs.

Abstract
In the current deregulated, competitive environment, companies are coninually seeking ways to reduce their operation and maintenance costs while still providing their customers with high reliability and quality of service. Condition based maintenance (CBM) is a good strategy which could be used to improve reliability, increase useful life of the equipment and reduce the cost of maintenance. This chapter addresses a Particle Swarm Optimisation (PSO) approach for solving a condition based maintenance scheduling problem for maximizing the total profit, considering incomes, production costs and maintenance costs.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
