The chapter provides one of the few analyses in the field of political science of the salary system of top civil servants in Italy in the period 1992-2007, using statistical data offered by the Ministry of the Economics (Conto Annuale). First grade and second grade civil servants' rewards are compared with the salaries of judges, MPs and private sector top managers. The results highlight the extra-average value of Italian judges salary system (in an international perspective too).
