The management of geospatial data requires an up-to-date and reliable geodetic infrastructure. The need to interface the Italian Geographic Data Bases with those of other Nations, primarily in Europe, requires the integration of the national geodetic infrastructure in the international context, such as ITRS and ETRS89 and their most recent realizations. The Istituto Geografico Militare has proposed and materialized a frame of permanent GNSS stations across the Italian territory named Rete Dinamica Nazionale (RDN). To carry out the project as a densification of the EUREF Network, IGM has worked in close cooperation with Universities (Bologna, Padova, Politecnico di Milano and collaborators) and CISIS using different softwares. During the EUREF Symposium of May 2009 in Florence, the RDN was officially accepted as a realization of ETRS89. CISIS has promoted the continuation of the development of the RDN in terms of maintenance and densification. To this goal CISIS has financed a re-calculation of RDN and is expected to continue to do so in the future. The goal is to make available to the users a geodetic infrastructure to support Real Time networks developed by the Regions, or private Firms. Users are in this way ensured that they represent their position measurements in a common frame of reference, valid across Italy and Europe.

Abstract
Users are in this way ensured that they represent their position measurements in a common frame of reference, valid across Italy and Europe.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
