According to the preliminary data published so far, PET seems to be valuable method for evaluating patients with soft tissue and bone sarcomas. FDG seems to be the best tracer, but only a few articles are based on other compounds, therefore further studies are requiredd before confirming this result. FDG-PET/CT seems to be useful in predicting the patient prognosis, in assessing the response to neoadjuvant chemotherapy, and in stating or restating the disease, significantly contributibuting to the correct management of the patient. Based on published data, it is possible to predict a future wider employment of this imaging method in patients affected by sarcomas.

Abstract
According to the preliminary data published so far, PET seems to be valuable method for evaluating patients with soft tissue and bone sarcomas. FDG seems to be the best tracer, but only a few articles are based on other compounds, therefore further studies are requiredd before confirming this result. FDG-PET/CT seems to be useful in predicting the patient prognosis, in assessing the response to neoadjuvant chemotherapy, and in stating or restating the disease, significantly contributibuting to the correct management of the patient. Based on published data, it is possible to predict a future wider employment of this imaging method in patients affected by sarcomas.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
