In the last years, a systematic study of A-hypemuclei has been initiated through a novel approach [ 1, 2] able to include contributions from the relevant degrees of freedom at low energies (π and kaon exchange interactions) into a (relativistic) energy density functional. In this contribution we will review the basic features of this approach and, in particular, we will report on some recent improvements [3] showing calculations for ∧16O.
