The volume presents the proceedings of the 2011 International Conference on Green Building and Sustainable Cities, held in Bologna in 15-16 Sept. 2011. The GBSC 2011 has provided an excellent international forum for sharing knowledge and results in theory, methodology and applications of Green Buildings and Sustainable Cities. The aim of the conference was to provide a platform to the researchers and practitioners from both academia as well as industry to meet and share cutting-edge development in the field. All submissions have been peer-reviewed.
