There is a strong association between nose morphology and personal identity. Patients believe that, thanks to aesthetic cange, they have the possibility to change their behaviour and their relationships with the external word. The authors exhamine the psychological aspects of rhinoplastic: expectations and motivations; the body image disorder; the minimal defect; short-term and long-term outcome of rhinoplasty for medical or cosmetc indications; psychosocial outcomes for patients seeking cosmetic surgery.
