This chapter explores two joint shifts and frictions that shape statecraft and its temporality. From climate-neutral targets set for 2030 and 2050, to the scenarios that explore life on the planet in the next one hundred years, vis-à-vis expected global warming, passing through the yearly pace of the Conference of the Parties (COP) climate summits and the call for immediate action, temporality permeates substantial aspects in the effort to face climate challenges.
