Synodality and Normative Activity in the Church: aliud est dicere, aliud facere. The essay is inspired by Carlo Fantappiè’s monograph Metamorfosi della sinodalità. Dal Vaticano II a papa Francesco, Venezia, Marcianum Press, 2023, to which this volume is dedicated. Drawing in particular on the contribution of the theological and historical disciplines, the distinguished Author’s insightful considerations, aimed at arriving at a comprehensive definition of the still nebulous concept of “synodality”, prompt a reflection on its distinctly juridical dimension within the canonical legal order, as well as on the practical effects of Pope Francis’s vision of a “constitutively synodal Church”, repeatedly emphasized throughout his pontificate.

Abstract
Synodality and Normative Activity in the Church: aliud est dicere, aliud facere. The essay is inspired by Carlo Fantappiè’s monograph Metamorfosi della sinodalità. Dal Vaticano II a papa Francesco, Venezia, Marcianum Press, 2023, to which this volume is dedicated. Drawing in particular on the contribution of the theological and historical disciplines, the distinguished Author’s insightful considerations, aimed at arriving at a comprehensive definition of the still nebulous concept of “synodality”, prompt a reflection on its distinctly juridical dimension within the canonical legal order, as well as on the practical effects of Pope Francis’s vision of a “constitutively synodal Church”, repeatedly emphasized throughout his pontificate.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
