The Sites of Chemistry, 1600-2000 is a four-year project to investigate the multitude of sites, spaces and places where chemistry has been practiced since 1600. These will be explored in a series of annual conferences, each devoted to a particular century. A final conference in early 2015 will explore themes and developments over the whole period and on a broader comparative scale. The project embraces a wide range of chemical sites and contexts, and the practices, people and purposes that they sustained.hroughout the project particular attention will be paid to the laboratory including: The anatomy of alchemical/chymical/chemical laboratories: location, physical structure and design, equipment, finance, personnel and social organization, practices and cultures; laboratories and lecture rooms/teaching and research; research schools.

Abstract
The Sites of Chemistry, 1600-2000 is a four-year project to investigate the multitude of sites, spaces and places where chemistry has been practiced since 1600. These will be explored in a series of annual conferences, each devoted to a particular century. A final conference in early 2015 will explore themes and developments over the whole period and on a broader comparative scale. The project embraces a wide range of chemical sites and contexts, and the practices, people and purposes that they sustained.hroughout the project particular attention will be paid to the laboratory including: The anatomy of alchemical/chymical/chemical laboratories: location, physical structure and design, equipment, finance, personnel and social organization, practices and cultures; laboratories and lecture rooms/teaching and research; research schools.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
