This essay documents the act of donation of the artwork entitled “Writing Music - Silent Melodies: The Barber of Seville” by Luo Qi to the International Museum and Library of Music in Bologna, at the end of the exhibition “Sounds of Ink: Luo Qi and 30 Years of Calligraphyism” (12 October-5 November 2023, International Museum and Library of Music, Bologna), analyzing in detail the artwork itself. The essay is accompanied by a wealth of illustrations of the artwork and the its permanent display next to the orinial manuscript of "The Barber of Seville" by Rossini.
