This chapter presents an overview of Loheia based on surveys conducted by the IUO Mission in the 1990s. Despite the town’s severe post–World War I decline, researchers documented numerous ruined buildings and three mosques, analyzing their distribution, preservation state, and architectural features. The study highlights Loheia’s urban and architectural characteristics, including building materials, inscriptions, and layouts, revealing continued construction activity into the late 19th and early 20th centuries despite the city’s economic decline.
