Environmental Protection and Economic Development in the Maritime Space Planning

The need to promote the sustainable coexistence of activities at sea, as well as the appropriate allocation of maritime space among the various relevant uses, has urged an intervention to regulate a new administrative function, that of "maritime spatial planning". This function is designed to contribute to the effective management of maritime activities and the sustainable use of maritime and coastal resources through the establishment of a coherent, transparent and sustainable decision-making process.
