Migration literature became a full-fledged genre during the 20th century, consolidating its own narratology and generational patterns, so much so that it has become a creative counter-environment for reading or rereading major episodes of that century’s History. Migration literature plays a relevant role as a mediator of memories and has become crucial to grasping the complexity of globalized geopolitics. In twenty-first century, migration literature has become the territory where ethical challenges of civic awareness – the so-called ethical turn are addressed.
