Knowledge Share is presented as a new way of thinking about how universities (and Public Research Organizations, PROs) operate in both their external environ- ment and within their organization, and also at the individual level. Knowledge Share can apply to the activities of teaching and research, but it is most applicable in the third activity. Knowledge Share encompasses the unintentional flow of knowl- edge and emphasizes the socialization of knowledge; it is a concept, a domain, and requires new approaches and new organizational forms within universities.
