The core of the Atlas of the City of Cesena consists of a series of thematic maps at various scales (1:2,500; 1:4,000; 1:10,000), designed to illustrate the location of buildings and monuments of historical and cultural significance. The 1:2,500 scale maps (Plates A, B, and C) feature an overlay comparing the current layout with the georeferenced historical land registry of 1820—the standard reference for historical studies of the city. This comparison allows for the perception and understanding of the primary urban and spatial transformations of Cesena.

Nucleo centrale dell'Atlante della città di Cesena costituito da una serie di carte tematiche in scale varie (1:2.500-1:4.000-1:10.000), volte ad illustrare la collocazione degli edifici e i monumenti di rilevanza storico-testimoniale della città. Le mappe in scala 1:2.500 (Tavole A,B,C) presentano in sovraimpressione il confronto con il catasto storico georeferenziato del 1820, normale riferimento per gli studi storici sulla città, che permette di percepire e comprendere le principali trasformazioni di carattere urbano e spaziale della città di Cesena.
