There are no explicit quotations from ancient scepticism(Arcesilaus) or references to sceptical concepts in Dietrich of Freiberg’s writings. However, his thought has frequently been compared with modern and contemporary philosophical systems in terms of its strength and consistency (Flasch 1972; Mojsisch 1977). Paradoxically, it is precisely two aspects underlying the soundness and coherence of Dietrich’s philosophy that could be subjected to sceptical criticism: (2.1) the constitutive function attributed to the human intellect within the cognitive act and (2.2) the notion of “intramental being” (ens conceptionale).

Abstract
There are no explicit quotations from ancient scepticism(Arcesilaus) or references to sceptical concepts in Dietrich of Freiberg’s writings. However, his thought has frequently been compared with modern and contemporary philosophical systems in terms of its strength and consistency (Flasch 1972; Mojsisch 1977). Paradoxically, it is precisely two aspects underlying the soundness and coherence of Dietrich’s philosophy that could be subjected to sceptical criticism: (2.1) the constitutive function attributed to the human intellect within the cognitive act and (2.2) the notion of “intramental being” (ens conceptionale).I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
